I left the UK on 1st February 2015 for the slopes of Austria with my skiing buddy Abi Richardson to train with the JT Freeski Academy.
We spent this first two weeks at Mayrhofen, Austria getting used to the park and cutting my teeth on the Pro line. I was so stoked to land my first Dub Back flip on the 2nd week of training although I took a few knocks trying new tricks…
We then moved onto Laax and once we settled there, I spent time working on my Switch Rodeo and practicing tricks at the Freestyle Centre. It has a sick foam pit and is a good place to work on new tricks
I had some fun at the Ski Testing in Kuthai. We spent some time trying out next season Line Skis – Sick Day – Blend – Chronic - have to say fell in love with the Blends. I am loving being on the Pro Line because there is so much air time and the landing catches you. My favourite trick I have learned so far is the double back flip and I am having loads of fun on the rails.
We hooked up with In The Snow magazine who were filming for a webisode to do with freestyle skis and so we hit the park with them and did some shots on rails and in the half pipe. The weather was pretty bad but the guys filming were really stoked with the shots.
We then also met up with Fall Line Magazine who are doing an article on the JT Freeski Academy so we went out with their photographer and did some action shots as well as some portrait and group shots for the article. By Justin TT - 1st March 2015
