The BRITS 2014
Posted on April 02 2014
The day started off cloudy and then out came the sun. There is no hope for the suffers of google burn this week. We spent the morning watching the Halfpipe Championship down by the Lanches lift in Val Claret. Lewis Courtier-Jones went big and won the overall mens. Whilst Ayla Thidling was the overall womens champion throwing down back-to-back 360s. Also Matt Thildings deserves respect for his massive frontside 540. Again Maisie Hilll dominated the female kids category. She won her age group half pipe and also qualified for the Women's open and came 4th overall. She was really pushing for it on first run for her final and took a massive leap out the pipe, landed with a butt slide and hurt her ankle. In the skiing slopestyle we saw Madi Rowlands and Dave White coming out on top of their categories. Madi never fails to impress us with her skills. We are in complete awe of the British talent including the groms who are just taking it to another level. The day finished with Après at Le Coffee with DJ Kommissar playing reggae while the rail jam took place. It was open to anyone who still had energy. The highlight for us was a man in nothing but gold pants and of course he was awarded one of our Stupid snapbacks. Stupid is being represented solidly in Tignes - from kids to adults, its all over the town.
