Sochi 2014: Torstein Horgmo in hospital after crash
Posted on February 03 2014
We've just heard the news that Torstein Horgmo is in hospital after a crash on a practise run of the slopestyle course. Torstein Horgmo is one of the Olympic Games gold medal favourites. He was taken to hospital this morning after crashing in training. He crashed on a rail feature of the course at Rosa Khutor Extreme Park. The Norwegian team manager Thomas Harstad confirmed. "He landed on his face and his right shoulder,". His team mate Staale Sandbech said "I saw that he fell over the rail and trashed pretty hard, he tried a really hard trick (switch hardway backside 270), probably the hardest trick you'll see all day. He was transferring from one jump to another rail." he also called him "a tough Viking," This accident comes after athletes have been voicing their thoughts about the course which haven't been entirely positive. Apparently their are concerns about the safety of the course and people suggesting that they need to tweak the jumps.
