Welcome to Stupid!

One resort Two parties

Posted on December 18 2013

We arrived in Tignes on Sunday night. Le Lac sits at a casual 2100 metres compared to the the 1650 metres of Les Deux Alpes. It felt significantly colder and the streets of the resort were like an ice rink. Sunday was our first day riding of the season and its been a long time coming - 7 months to be exact. The skies were blue, the snow cover was minimal and it felt like spring. But we are not complaining, it was good to be back on the mountain. We threw a party for the students of Wasteland Ski in Val Claret on the Sunday night in Dropzone. The students were in fancy dress, standard, but they loved all the free goodies we were throwing at them. Monday was a big day of riding with fellow seasonnaires and friends from the UK. Nothing better than hooning it round the piste with our UK and mountain families. One of us even managed to get a cheeky apres drink in. The next couple of days were dedicated to work. Its a surreal and frustrating experience trying to do a 10 hour working day when the view out your window is this......... vcTuesday night was the big night, the Stupid Party at The Marmot Arms in Le Lac. The Marmot Arms is the bar we sponsor in Tignes. A legendary place with famous burgers, huge breakfasts and a better than average whisky collection. The Marmot Arms were given a snowboard by their retail neighbours, Snowpark, to give away to one lucky customer. The night went off, the tunes were banging, the drinks were flowing and people were snapping up bits of Stupid gear left right and centre. It was a huge success. And then we were back to reality with a bump, its the morning after and we are sat in front of our computers, looking across the lake.......
